Though we will provide our recommendations, the priority and duration of each visit is up to you. I’ll give you the background, history and cultural significance of each destination.

Barong Dance
Performers in their colorful and frightening costumes act out ancient tales and epic battles between good and evil. They tell stories of triumph as well as the despair of an angry widow seeking revenge after being cast out from her village. Highly tuned dancers perform elaborate routines that amaze and inspire. Enjoy it all while learning the meaning behind the masks of the Barong and Keris dance.

Batik Art
A visit to Indonesia would not be complete without experiencing the traditional art of Batik. It’s the traditional dress of many of the Balinese and Javanese, and few people are better at it than the talented artisans of Tohpati Village. Learn the ancient art first-hand by some of the best Batik artists in the world.
Celuk Village
The home of the finest silver craftsmen and women in Indonesia, Celuk Village supplies most of the silver jewelry sold throughout the country. It’s a great place to see silversmiths at work and to find a good price on jewelry to take back home with you. All pieces are authenticated and certified.

Batuan Temple
Batuan is known throughout the world for its art and extremely detailed paintings known as a Batuan painting. The temple also features distinctive art carvings and is one of two temples in the village. You’ll also see the giant baby Buda statue situated in the middle of town. At the temple, both men and women are required to wear the vermillion sarong when entering.


Tegenungan Waterfall
Clean and pristine, be sure to bring your swimsuit. Here’s your chance to relax and cool off in a natural Bali waterfall and swim in the jungle river. It’s perfectly safe, though you may share the water with some of the local kids, which can be a lot of fun on its own. The Tegenungan village waterfall is quite a sight, though, even if you choose not to swim.

Wood Carving
If you’ve been in Bali for more than a couple days, you’ve probably noticed a lot of the wood art shops. Balinese are among the finest craftsmen and women in the world when it comes to wood carving. Learn the rituals they perform before using a tree for art. See first-hand the delicate craft as garuda, barong dancers, fisherman and dragons begin to take their shape from the artists mind.
Monkey Forest
One of the most popular attractions in Ubud is the Sacred Monkey Forest. Not only is it alive with hundreds of monkeys, but the grounds abound with stone carvings, caves, the temple and jungle. It’s a protected reserve and considered a holy place for the Balinese. Enjoy a nice stroll through the beautiful grounds of the Monkey Forest.

Here, both men and women will need to wear the traditional Vermilion Sarong before entering the sacred temple. Known for its fantastic Balinese art and architecture, this temple is actually three temples in one, Pura Batuan, Pura Puseh and Pura Dasar. Locals come here for healing and to pray.
